"Mini Lessons that Maximize Strategies & Improve Instruction"

Mini lessons can teach students to use reading, listening, and writing strategies to improve
comprehension skills. Examples were relevant across content areas. Focusing attention on activating prior knowledge, mastering challenging vocabulary, and predicting & summarizing information were included. A handout of ideas was provided.

"Putting the Spotlight on Organizational Skills"

Some students just can’t seem to “get their act together.” This session will explore ways to help with study skills, time management, & homework. Examples were appropriate across content areas, and handouts with examples were provided.
